To be fully known by God Himself is an honour and a privilege known only to man. And especially for us who know Jesus Christ and accepted Him as our Lord and Saviour, it is so reassuring to know that He knows us through and through and would still love us, accept us as we are and came to sacrifice Himself to save us from our sins.
Hallelujah!
Does your spouse, your partner or your best friend know you well enough? Can they read you like a book and know what you are going to say or do in any given situation?
Maybe! Maybe not!
What about yourself? Do you know yourself well enough? Do you know how much pressure you can take? What you really need and want in life?
Maybe! Maybe not!
But there is someone who knows you like an open book. This person knows you and can read your secret thoughts and knows your ways.
Frightening thought, right?
If this is a malicious person, he or she would use this knowledge to threaten or blackmail you.
Press the right button and get you to do his biddings.
But rest assure and fear not! This is not a malicious person. This is someone who knows you and yet still love you and want the best for you.
It's God!
Yes, the omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscience God. He is the creator of the universe and our Creator. He is all-powerful, all-present and all-knowing.
He fully known us and yet in spite of knowing us through and through - all our faults and weaknesses, He declare that He still love us and went forth to demonstrate this love for us by sending His son into the world to save us from our sins. John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
