Led by Higher Hands

Higher hands are leading me. It was New Year's Eve 2015 and I was alone in my apartment watching a television programme when this phrase kept coming to my mind. 

I went to bed thinking; "Hmmm...I know the tune. Is that a hymn? A gospel song? What are the lyrics?"

New Year's Day 2016, I woke up with the same words going over and over in my mind.

Well, I told myself that I really must google the words.  And I did. Here's the lyrics to this beautiful hymn.

Without the hands of God leading and guiding us each day, I believe for many of us, life journey would be a terrifying one.

There will be unpassable terrains and insurmountable obstacles. And all kinds of wild thoughts and frightening images will plague us and make even beginning the journey impossible.

Praise be to God! He has not abandoned us. He is our protector and our ever-present help in trouble. His hands are always there ready to guide us when we look to Him for guidance.

What blessed assurance to know that those strong loving hands are guiding and leading us each and every moment; when we lose our way, His hands gently and patiently guide us back to His side and when life's troubles overwhelmed us, He lovingly enfold us in His everlasting arms whispering words of comforts in our ears.

What a loving God! Abba Father! 

With those words (the beautiful lyrics) in my heart, I know that that is God's promise to me and to you for the year ahead. The God who never fails promised to be with us, leading and guiding us in His way through eternity. Let us yield ourselves to the God who loves us so much and make every day a day of fellowship with the Holy One. Let us walk on higher ground guided by higher hands always.
